Pie Hound Pizza Company – Best Detroit-Style Pizza & Wings in Athens, TN

Great people, great atmosphere, and great food! Best pizza in town by far. The whipped and dipped appetizer is amazing which something I didn’t initially think I would like! The Buffy pizza is also very very good :)

New establishment in the heart of downtown Athens, beautiful on the outside and inside. Hostess greeted us with a smile and we were seated promptly at 11, our waitress was friendly and attentive. They have a small but detailed menu with a very good variety of options, they have something for everyone. They have a full liquor bar, wine and beer options plus sodas and tea. The chipotle blackberry wings were very well cooked and seasoned, our group was very happy with the cook and size of the wings. We got the Cicero pizza which was very tasty, it had a good crust and the toppings had very good flavoring. The ONLY thing I would say is the bottom crust could have been crispier and had more of a color to it. By the time we left around noon, every table was taken and people were waiting for a spot. Pie Hound is a great addition to the area and I will recommend them to friends and family.

This place was amazing. I’m so thankful they brought a fancy downtown restaurant to Athens! The perfect place for date night or dinner with your girls. These wings were TO DIE FOR!!! I got the garlic parm and chipotle blackberry (not too spicy not too sweet). They were delish and pretty affordable as well. The atmosphere just tops it off.

This place was incredible to say the very least, the atmosphere is so professional, fancy and welcoming, the staff was so nice and helpful and the food was absolutely stunning, I was so blown away by the presentation and quality, you'd believe you're at a michelin restaurant!!

Hands-down the most mouth watering pizza I think I've ever had. All pizza is good, some pizza is great, this pizza was the best. We started off with Ceaser salads. They were awesome. The dressing was delicious and the soft, sourdough-like croutons were the best. I knew if the salads were this good I was in for a treat. We got the larger size "Lisa", their red sauce vegetarian pie. It was a gorgeous Detroit style pizza with crispy, caramelized cheese around the edges, stretchy cheese and covered in fresh veggies, including Peppadew peppers. Those were a first for me but I was pleasantly surprised. Everything about this pizza was delectable. The sauce, the crust, the cheese, the toppings. It was so good, it took me back to the early 90's when pizza was my whole world as a little kid. They also have this little bottle of oil on the table and I asked so you don't have to, it's chili oil and it's delicious drizzled on your pizza. Think red pepper flakes in oil form. TRY IT! I had to stop myself from eating it all because I wanted to save some to take for lunch. Salads, pizza and 2 sodas was only $41 and some change. I would have paid double. It's that good. I'm coming back, as I think I've found my new pizza addiction.

The food is amazing! Highly recommend the Staxx Pie and wings! Atmosphere is phenomenal and the service was outstanding!

The lunch menu is very limited. I had the chicken sandwich with fries and it was pretty good, the home cut fries were great, not greasy and crispy. The sandwich was good, not great but good. I loved the atmosphere, the tables are quite small though. Maybe I'll go back and try dinner sometime. Our server was excellent!

This place is a 5 for Athens. Nicest place we've had in a long time. We were happily surprised that all the food although a tad pricey was delicious and extremely filling! Service from Kassidy was incredible, food came out quick! I love the vibe there and the attention to detail. My Paloma came with charred pineapple and tajin on the rim, the charred pineapple was incredible! Keep it up! We will be back , gladly. I hope this place inspires and invites other restaurants to come to downtown , a nice local bistro or steak restaurant would be incredible
